About Asian Club Ddakji, weiqi, calligraphy, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Akihabara, kimbap, Running Man... If you recognize any of these nouns (and even if you don't), you should join Asian Club! Asian Club examines the different aspects of Asian Culture such as language, food, entertainment, and history through hands on learning. While each club meeting is educational, it is also very fun! Our members enjoy discussing anime over bowls of ramen on food days, learning how to make paper cranes and origami flowers, and having fun with a range of other activities! We also participate in community events such as the Chinese New Year Gala at the Meridian Mall, and dive into the local cosplaying community during Shuto Con.
Asian Club is a diverse and open community that welcomes all students regardless of ethnicity or grade. Our goal is to spark and nurture a passion for Asian culture among our members and the community through fun activities! Note: All images used throughout the "headline" portions of the site are pictures of places throughout Asia. The headline photo for this page is from Jiuzhaigou National Park in China. |
Meet Our Mascot: Yuan Yuan
Asian Culture Club's mascot is a panda named Yuan Yuan.
Yuan Yuan's name comes from the Chinese phrase "Tuan Yuan" (团圆)which means "together." Our mascot's name reflects one of Asian Culture Club's most important values -- unity. In our club, we pride ourselves on our supportive community and our strong bonds we share with one another. |
